The drug has mucolytic (secretolytic) and expectorative action. The mucolytic effect is related to depolymerization and loosening of mucoprotein and mucopolysaccharide fibers.
Secretolytic treatment in acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases with expectoration difficulties.
The drug should be taken internally, regardless of food intake. Duration of administration depends on the indications and the course of the disease and is determined on an individual basis.
Adults and children aged 14 years and over: 1–2 tablets (8–16 mg) thrice daily. The treatment course is 4–5 days.
In children between 6 and 14 years of age as well as in patients with a body weight of less than 50 kg: 1 tablet (4–8 mg) thrice daily. The treatment course is 4–5 days.
In impaired renal function or severe liver disease, the dose of the drug should be decreased.
