Systemic antihistamines

The active substance of the drug, mebhydrolin, is an antihistamine and an H1 histamine receptor blocker. It diminishes the spasmogenic effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, intestine, and also influences the permeability of blood vessels.

Prevention and treatment of seasonal and allergic rhinitis, pollinosis, urticaria, food and drug allergies, dermatosis accompanied by skin itching (eczema, neurodermatitis).

The drug is taken orally after a meal.

Adults and children aged 14 years and over: the daily dose is 100–200 mg 1–2 times daily. The maximum single dose is 300 mg, daily dose is 600 mg.

In children between 5 and 12 years of age: the drug should be used in the dose of 50 mg (1/2 tablets) 1–3 times per day.

The duration of treatment is determined by the physician depending on the nature of the disease, the achieved therapeutic effect and the drug tolerability.
