Selective β-adrenoceptor antagonists in combination with diuretics
Dinoric-Darnitsa is a combination antihypertensive medicine that contains atenolol and chlorthalidone. Atenolol is a cardioselective β1--blocker.
The medicine is not intended for the initial treatment of hypertension. The medicine is prescribed when monotherapy is ineffective.
The dosage and duration of treatment are selected individually by the physician depending on the therapeutic effect obtained.
Dinoric®-Darnitsa tablets are prescribed for oral use in adults. Take without chewing, with water, before meals once a day (in the morning).
The dosing regimen is given in atenolol equivalent.
In hypertension, the initial dose is 50 mg (1/2 tablet) per day. In the absence of a clinical effect, the dose can be increased to 100 mg (1 tablet) per day. Further dose increment in most cases does not lead to a blood pressure decrease. Use other antihypertensives if necessary.
The greatest therapeutic effect is observed after 1-2 weeks of treatment. The medicine should be discontinued gradually, since sudden discontinuation may cause withdrawal syndrome.
Do not use the medicine in paediatric practice.
