Lactunorm is a prebiotic for adults and children

Darnitsa has launched Lactunorm – a new medicinal product for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults and children in the form of syrup.

Lactulose is the active substance in Lactunorm syrup. Lactulose as a prebiotic enhances the growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli, while inhibiting the growth of potentially pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and clostridia. This helps to restore the normal balance of the intestinal flora.

Constipation is one of the most common disorders of the digestive tract in children and adults. According to various authors, constipation is diagnosed in about 70% of patients with a gastroenterologic profile (in women 3 times more often than in men). The disease occurs due to the action of many factors that cause impaired motor function of the digestive tract, most often – of the large intestine.

Lactulose is a synthetic derivative of lactose. Once ingested with the product, it splits into low molecular weight organic acids under the action of the intestinal flora in the large intestine. These acids lower the pH in the large intestine, which increases the volume of intestinal content.

Lactunorm is not practically absorbed or hydrolysed in the stomach and small intestine, reaching the large intestine unchanged. According to the doctor’s prescription, it can be used in adults and children, as well as for the treatment of constipation during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The syrup is available with a dosage of 670 mg of the active substance in 1 ml of syrup, in packs of 200 ml and 500 ml in a vial.
