“Darnitsa” claims for the Award of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs in four nominations at once

Pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa”, the leader in the country in the production of medicines in volume terms*, has been nominated for the Award of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP). “Darnitsa” is nominated in four out of 13 nominations at once – “Creativity of the Year”, “Leader of Change”, “High Standards of Business Conduct” and “Sustainable Business”.

The tours project around pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” is presented in the “Creativity of the Year” nomination. The company was the first in its industry to start showing production processes to visitors in 2019 so that they can make sure of the quality and innovativeness of the medicines. Influencers, lifestyle bloggers and show business figures have also been involved in the tours. The content they created about pharmaceutical production attracted almost 3 million Instagram and YouTube users. During the pandemic tours are guided online.

The systemic support of the society and the forward movement towards minimizing the environmental impact actively conducted by “Darnitsa” has made it a nominee in the “Sustainable Business” category. In particular, the company provides military personnel, people with low incomes and those who are in crisis situations with free medicines. “Darnitsa” has initiated a scholarship program for students and professors at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, stimulating the development of progressive education, and contributed to the purchase of specialized equipment for the preservation of cultural monuments of Sofia Kyivska.

To become a nominee in “High Standards of Business Conduct” category, “Darnitsa” has proven that it meets seven specific criteria for 100%. They include fair advertising, employment without discrimination, social responsibility, environmental friendliness in production, respect for human rights, transparency in business conduct and customer focus. For example, to minimize its environmental impact, the company focuses on wastewater treatment, sorting waste for recycling and implementing the “green office” concept.

All of these achievements, together with the economic indicators of activity, have ensured “Darnitsa” also a place in the “Leader of Change” nomination, where the strongest are competing.

The CUP Award is an annual recognition of the best Ukrainian entrepreneurs that promotes innovative and breakthrough practices in Ukrainian business. The best in each nomination are chosen based on the expert jury’s assessments and open online voting.

The names of the winners will be known on December 7.
