The active substance of the drug is silymarin that is obtained from the fruit extract of milk thistle (Silybum marianum). The bioactive components of Silymarin neutralize free radicals in the liver, prevent the destruction of cell structures, in particular, stabilize the hepatocyte membranes.
Toxic liver damage: for maintenance treatment of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the liver or liver cirrhosis.
Darsil tablets are taken orally after a meal, without chewing, with an adequate amount of liquid.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: in mild and moderate cases, the drug is used at a dose of 1–2 tablets thrice daily, in severe forms of the disease the dose can be doubled to 2–4 tablets thrice daily.
The duration of treatment is determined by the physician on an individual basis, depending on the course of the disease and its nature. The average duration of treatment is 3 months.
The drug is not recommended for children aged below 12 years.
