Vasodilator and antispasmodic agent. It has a hypotensive, vasodilatory action, stimulates the function of the spinal cord, has a moderate immunostimulant effect.
As an additional treatment for the spasms of blood vessels (exacerbation of hypertension, hypertensive crises) and smooth muscles of the internal organs (pyloric and intestinal spasms); in the treatment of neurological diseases (mainly residual symptoms of poliomyelitis, peripheral facial nerve palsy, polyneuritis).
In adults and children aged 12 years and over, Dibazol-Darnitsa is used intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously. To stop hypertensive crises, inject 3–5 mL of 1% solution (30–50 mg) intravenously or intramuscularly. In pronounced hypertension, the drug should be administered intramuscularly at a dose of 2–3 mL of 1% solution (20–30 mg) 2–3 times per day. The duration of treatment is determined by the physician on an individual basis and is usually between 8 and 14 days.
The drug is not used in children aged under 12 years.
