Decamethoxin is the active substance of the medicine, a quaternary ammonium compound that is a cationic surfactant. Decamethoxin binds to the cytoplasmic membrane lipid phosphate groups of the microbial cell, which leads to an impairment of its permeability and cell destruction.
Topical treatment as a part of complex therapy of the diseases of the mouth, pharynx, larynx (pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, gingivitis, periodontal disease, stomatitis, oral candidiasis, the initial stage of tonsillitis).
Sanitation of mouth, pharynx, nasopharynx in carriers of pathogenic Staphylococci, diphtheria bacillus, Candida.
Prevention of infectious complications after surgery on the mouth, pharynx, larynx.
The tablet should be placed between the gums and cheek after a preliminary mouth rinse and held in the mouth until fully dissolved. Adults are prescribed 1 tablet of the medicine
4–6 times per day. The duration of treatment should be no longer 7 days. The medicine should be taken after meals, then the patient should abstain from eating and drinking for 1 hour.
