Darnitsa Summed up the Results of Digitalization in 2021

25 January 2022

Darnitsa Pharmaceutical Company accelerated the launch and registration of new drugs from 30 to 18 months, automated the process of production quality control and introduced a corporate data warehouse and a modern visual reporting system. And these are only some of the results of the digitalization of Darnitsa’s work process in 2021.

Digitalization is one of the tools of implementation of the company’s mission: to help healthcare professionals and patients improve their quality of life through science, innovation and accessibility.

Digital transformation is aimed at qualitative changes in product development and production, internal business processes, personnel management processes, etc. In particular, digitalization has significantly accelerated the process of launching and registration of new products (from 30 to 18 months). To improve the quality and speed of decision-making, the company has implemented a corporate data warehouse and a modern reporting visualization system. The efficiency and speed of internal business processes have been improved with a new electronic document management system. Investments were also aimed at modernization of the server equipment fleet, introduction of new modules of the corporate ERP system, etc. The process of production quality control in accordance with the International System of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) has also been automated.

Every new drug must be registered, subjected to numerous quality checks and certified before it appears on the shelves of Ukrainian pharmacies. Many years of experience show that the usual “paper” registration takes about 10 months and requires hundreds of sheets of paper to create a dossier. And pharmacovigilance specialists spend on average one third of their time and attention searching for documents and forms, liaising with other departments. To change this, Darnitsa was one of the first domestic pharmaceutical companies to switch to OtiPharm® DataPro platform to simplify the pharmacovigilance procedure. Instead of the planned two months, the new platform was launched in just three weeks, and it immediately made it possible to redistribute the time of specialists from routine processes to expert work.

To automate personnel management processes, the company has implemented the SMART HCM system, which uses artificial intelligence technologies. Digital assistant capabilities include event management, e-learning, skills development, gamification of working processes and reduced adaptation of new employees.

And in order to involve all employees in communication in the company, Darnitsa started using an internal corporate network Workplace by Facebook, where 100% of employees got registered.

“Introduction of digital technologies with simultaneous reengineering of all processes and harmonization of the business application landscape improves the company’s management, increases transparency and business efficiency. The company’s management system becomes a holistic organism, the management of which is based on accessible, reliable and comprehensive data. As we change, we become a part of the global digital economy. This is a long-term investment in the company’s investment attractiveness,” noted Volodymyr Krasotin, Director of the Digital Transformation Department.
