A Master Class on Countering Mental Disorders and Dealing with Psychotrauma During the War to Be Held with the Support of Darnytsia

Pharmaceutical Company ‘Darnytsia’ continues to work on the educational programme for doctors called Mental Disorders and Dealing with Psychotrauma During the War. 

On 16 November, a new master class called Mental Disorders and Dealing with Psychotrauma During the War will be held within the framework of the programme, aimed at maintaining mental health in wartime.

David Benedek, Professor, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, Associate Director at the Centre for the Study of Traumatic Stress in the USA, and Nataliia Maruta, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Neuroses and Borderline States of the Institute of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Narcology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, will speak at the event.

Very important issues are going to be discussed during the master class: increasing resilience, restoring mental health of combatants during integration into civilian life or in case of return to military service.

Specialists in the field of psychiatry, psychology, neurology, forensic medicine, as well as managers in the field of health care will find it interesting to participate in the master class. The event is open to anyone wishing to increase their level of knowledge about mental health.

In addition, the event is accredited by the Testing Centre of the Ministry of Health, so its participants, who are specialists in the field of health care, can receive a certificate of 10 Continuous Professional Development points in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health.

‘Mental disorders and psychotrauma caused by war are our new reality. Such conditions can occur both in military personnel involved in hostilities and in civilians who witnessed death, destruction, injury, and were in danger. For our part, we involve leading international specialists in dealing with trauma in order to take advantage of their experience and contribute as effectively as possible to helping patients with mental disorders during the war’, says Lidia Honchar-Cherdakli, Deputy Director for Medical Affairs at Pharmaceutical Company ‘Darnytsia’. 

It should be reminded that the international educational programme is organized with the support of Darnytsia and in partnership with NGO ‘All-Ukrainian Association of Psychosomatic Medicine’.
